John Calarco and his brother Daniel just refinished the terrazzo floors in both my bathrooms, and they look like new.
In 1993, John and his father refinished the terrazzo in my entrance hall, and it still looks fantastic. The Calarco
brothers are both polite, conscientious craftsman, and I definitely recommend their services. Their rates are
reasonable, and their work is outstanding. Mary Lyons 10-04-2007

The Stovall Residence
John Calarco completely restored nearly 1500 square feet of terrazzo in my Glenbrook Valley home. Previous owners
had covered virtually all of the terrazzo with carpet and ceramic tile. To make matters worse, the last owners removed
the carpet themselves and created ugly quarter-inch deep divots in the terrazzo around the perimeter of several rooms
by prying out the carpet tack strips which had been nailed directly into the terrazzo. I carefully removed the ceramic
tile myself and found the terrazzo underneath to be badly stained in several places. Frankly, I thought my floors were
beyond redemption.
John and his brother painstakingly filled each divot after meticulously hand matching both color and chip size. I wouldn't
have believed it possible, but the damage has disappeared. I can't see the patches, even on hands and knees! As for
the stains I found under the tile, grinding and careful bleaching eradicated them as well. The Calarcos even poured
a new 3' x 7' section of terrazzo in my hallway that had been completely removed by previous owners during some long
forgotten repair. It matches perfectly. Finally, they ground, polished and sealed the entire floor to a point where
it shines like glass. My floor went from life support to WOW! If that's not enough, Calarco was actually the low bid
to do the job. Amazing.
It's rare these days to find true craftsmen like John Calarco. There were several times during this project when he
could have cut corners to save himself time and money, but just good enough won't do with this guy. He takes the
results personally. I kind of got the idea that he would have liked to sign my floor when he was finished. If he'd
asked, I would have let him. Stephen Stovall 2-01-2008
